One of Australia’s largest business to business publishing and events companies – The Intermedia Group – has a vacancy for a professional and enthusiastic sales manager to work in the publishing industry across digital media, print media and events servicing the spatial sciences & surveying sector.

Australia’s leading source of spatial news and journalism, Position Media Network, is seeking a self-driven media sales manager to spearhead its commercial success across print media, digital media and events. Position Media Network encompasses the internationally regarded Spatial Source website and the well-established and professionally respected Position magazine.

The role will be 3-5 days per week, depending on the level of experience and/or commitment.

 

The Role

The sector is in a period of growth and change as it responds to the rapidly evolving geo-challenges prompted by new technologies. The impact on suppliers and stakeholders is also being keenly felt, especially in areas where there is potential for increased efficiency brought on by big data and disruptive technologies.

The Media Sales Manager will be responsible for selling advertising and sponsorships across the above print and digital products as well as at the annual conference.

All products are well established and supported by experienced editorial staff. Your existing clients are committed customers, though your ability to develop new business will play a key role in your success.

You will be required to play an important part in the development of these products by managing the current client base and sourcing new clients. This role requires outstanding customer relationship skills and a high attention to detail.

You will be expected to achieve individual budgets by implementing strategies and creating integrated media and sponsorship packages tailored to the client’s needs.

The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in sales and ideally would also have experience in business-to-business media sales or the geo spatial industry.

 

The Person

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic sales professional who has at least two years’ experience.

You must be a self-starter capable of executing your job with autonomy, and who is motivated by the opportunity to create a successful career in the media industry.

In return for your efforts, you will be compensated with a competitive base salary plus superannuation, and access to an uncapped commission incentive scheme.

Some travel will be required, along with attending industry functions after hours.
