The 15th International Conference on Spatial Information Theory, COSIT 2022, will be held in Kobe, Japan, 5 to 9 September, 2022. Established in 1993, the Conference on Spatial Information Theory (COSIT) is a biennial international conference series concerned with theoretical aspects of space and spatial information, aimed at advancing geographic information science and its emerging research frontiers.
The conference offers three (refereed) submission tracks with double-blind reviews: vision papers, full papers, and short papers. Embedded in the conference will also be an on-site mentoring program for doctoral students.
Contributions can cover a broad set of conference-relevant themes such as (but not limited to):

The Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) will convene the second United Nations World Geospatial Information Congress (UNWGIC) in Hyderabad, India from 10-14 October 2022.
Hosted by the Government of India through its Ministry of Science and Technology, the convening of the UNWGIC arises out of the mandate from the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) to the Committee of Experts to convene global forums to promote comprehensive dialogue on global geospatial information management with all relevant governments, international organisations and stakeholders.
With an overarching theme ‘Geo-Enabling the Global Village: No one should be left behind,’ the second UNWGIC will reflect the importance of integrated geospatial information to support sustainable development and the wellbeing of society, address environmental and climate challenges, embrace digital transformation and technological development, and catalyse vibrant economies.
The congress addresses the development and strengthening of integrated geospatial information management, its capacities and capabilities, and demonstrates the importance of international cooperation and coordination for building a human data and geography community, against the three pillars of sustainable development, for a shared future and a better world, leaving no one behind within an inclusive and equitable global society.
The UNWGIC will feature a high-level, plenary, special and parallel sessions. While the actual second UNWGIC program covers three days (11 – 13 October), the overall event will be a weeklong (10 – 14 October), and will include global and regional meetings, workshops and learning events, expert meetings and side events, including the eleventh plenary meeting of the Regional Committee of United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management for Asia and the Pacific (UN-GGIM-AP), as well as the annual meeting of the UN-GGIM Expanded Bureau.
The 2023 NSW Geospatial Conference and Awards Dinner will take place on Thursday, 24 August at the PARKROYAL Parramatta hotel and convention venue.
The conference will be an opportunity for professionals from all corners of the geospatial world to come together and hear about recent innovative projects, the latest research and current activities from across the NSW geospatial community. It will also be a great chance to network and learn about all the latest technology from multiple exhibitors.

The conference will be capped off in the evening by the NSW Geospatial Excellence Awards, which will celebrate the best of the ACT and NSW geospatial industry.

The 2023 Tasmanian Geospatial Conference & Awards Reception will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Hobart on 1 September 2023, where delegates will hear the latest news from across the local geospatial industry, including presentations on cadastral surveying, GIS, education and more.
Immediately following the conference will be the Geospatial Excellence Awards Reception, where all attendees will have the chance to enjoy drinks and canapes whilst networking and celebrating the local winners.

The 2023 Victorian Geospatial Conference & Awards Dinner be an opportunity for Victorian professionals of all geospatial disciplines to come together to learn, connect and share, and also celebrate local excellence with the awards dinner in the evening.
This year’s program will feature three concurrent streams covering GIS, data, cadastral surveying, digital twins, remote sensing and more.
The Victorian Geospatial Excellence Awards dinner will take place from 6.00pm, immediately following the conference.

Each year representatives from the Association of Consulting Surveyors NSW and the Institution of Surveyors NSW come together to organise the NSW Excellence in Surveying and Spatial Information (EISSI) Awards.
The awards recognise the achievements of organisations and individuals from across the state who are engaged in the surveying and spatial information profession; celebrate excellence before an audience of industry peers; encourage activities that create a stronger, larger and more relevant industry; and embrace the achievements of the industry and its related industries and professions.
The 2023 Queensland Geospatial Conference & Awards Dinner will be held in Brisbane on Friday, 20 October 2023.
The conference will be a chance for the Queensland geospatial community to learn about the latest projects and research, connect with colleagues and see the latest technology from local suppliers. The conference will be followed by the awards dinner.
Presentation abstract proposals are being accepted until Monday, 28 August.

The Geospatial Council of Australia invites industry members to participate in the special South Australian Geospatial Excellence Awards reception on Friday, 27 October 2023, in the Riverbank Rooms at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
With no Spatial Information Day this year due to Locate23 being held in Adelaide, this event will be held to announce the 2023 South Australia award winners, whilst also showcasing some of last year’s incredible winning projects.
The evening will be an opportunity for networking with colleagues old and new, and for celebration of the local geospatial industry.

The 2023 ACT Geospatial Conference and Excellence Awards will bring together colleagues old and new to hear the latest updates from across the local geospatial industry.
The call for abstracts for the event is now open. Any topic of interest to the geospatial industry is welcome, including surveying (cadastral, engineering, hydrographic, mining), GIS, remote sensing and geodesy, or broader topics such as new technology, diversity and workforce management.
The deadline for submission of abstract proposals closes at midday on Tuesday, 3 October.
The Geospatial Excellence Awards Reception will be held at the conclusion of the conference sessions, giving attendees the chance to enjoy drinks and canapes whilst networking and celebrating the award winners.
