The FIG Congress — the largest and most prestigious conference of surveying and geospatial professionals — will this year be held in Poland.

The organisers are expecting an attendance of 1,000 to 1,500 surveying and geospatial experts from all over the world.

This year the local host is the Association of Polish Surveyors, and the conference theme is ‘Volunteering for the future – Geospatial excellence for a better living’. Geospatial excellence and all related professions and topics are now seen in a much broader context and as public goods and beneficial for the well-being and betterment of the entire society.

The sub themes are:

• Surveyor 4.0
• The surveying profession in and after COVID times
• Open access to data
• Surveying competence for other disciplines

The FIG Congress 2022 will give passionate professionals the opportunity to:

• Learn globally, with participation from around 80 to 90 countries
• Learn across silos, from other countries, industries and professional roles – with sessions and representation from a broad range of surveyors and geospatial experts
• Have influence on careers, organisations and communities

The US National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) Annual Conference is the place to enhance geospatial excellence and collaboration for state, local, tribal and federal GIS policymakers and coordinators, private sector partners and other leaders in the geospatial ecosystem.

Providing critical and timely networking opportunities, the conference also offers the chance to connect, collaborate, and share with colleagues and partners.

The agenda will comprise:

Roll Call of States — Where state representatives will share a snapshot of achievements, challenges and upcoming activities.
Plenary Sessions — Presentations by and for the NSGIC community exploring challenges, successes and new approaches for collaboration in the geospatial ecosystem.
State Caucus — A roundtable discussion with state and local government representatives to talk frankly about current pressing issues.
GIO Academy — Leadership sessions and networking for state government GIOs and equivalents only (separate registration is required).

Smart Cities Week Australia and New Zealand 2022 will bring together the who’s-who in smart cities, digital twins and future-of-place thought leadership in an energising, open dialogue on how to leverage technology to deliver better quality of life for citizens.

Smart Cities Week offers sessions designed to bring demand and supply side stakeholders together in a way that incubates business opportunities and incubates the smart cities investment pipeline.

This year, the event will be delivered in conjunction with Digital Twin Week, known as the premier platform for showcasing, exchanging and networking around all things Digital Twin in the built and natural environment. The event will offer a series of opportunities to connect and gain information and insights on Digital Twin activity, policy and practice from government and industry leaders.

The 2022 SSSI Queensland Regional Conference will be held on Friday, 14 October at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. It promises to once again be a fantastic opportunity to learn and connect with SSSI members and the broader surveying and spatial community.

The Queensland Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards dinner will also be held in conjunction with the conference, celebrating the outstanding work being undertaken across the region.

The 2022 SSSI Victorian Surveying & Spatial Summit and APSEA-V Dinner will take place on Thursday, 27 October 2022. It will be an opportunity for all Victorian surveying and spatial professionals to come together to learn, share and connect.

The event will feature an array of speakers, along with plenty of networking opportunities and the chance to see the latest products and services from local suppliers.

The 2022 SSSI NSW Regional Conference will be held on Thursday 10 November and Friday 11 November 2022 at the Novotel Sydney Central. The theme will be ‘Connections’.

This regular event is an opportunity to learn from and connect with other SSSI members and the broader geospatial community.

The first day will comprise the main conference, with speakers presenting on various topics, followed by the NSW & ACT Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards dinner in the evening.

The second day will be a NSW Spatial Digital Twin workshop, an interactive session that will get ‘under the bonnet,’ looking at data sharing, use cases and more.

The Call for Abstracts will close at midday on Monday, 26 September 2022. Abstract proposals can be submitted online at https://lnkd.in/ek4xS6Bu.

The World of Drones and Robotics Congress 2022 is scheduled to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Similar to 2021, it will be held in a hybrid format — in-person and online.

Australia’s first dedicated Micromobility Conference and Expo will give delegates the opportunity to learn about best practices from international and Australian experts.

After hearing from inspirational keynote speakers, the Micromobility Conference will break into delegates’ choice of two themes on each of its two days.

Delegates will also be able to see best practice examples via facilities tours to be hosted by expert practitioners from the City of Sydney, with e-bikes and helmets provided. They’ll also be able to visit the Micromobility Expo, to be run concurrently at Royal Randwick Racecourse, which will include a huge range of exhibits plus safe, traffic free test riding opportunities.

The Micromobility Conference will be a great opportunity to make new contacts, develop your professional skills, to learn about both the bigger picture trends and latest technical information and to simply be inspired and encouraged.

The Institution of Surveyors NSW’s annual conference is back and will be moving around the state, starting in 2023 in Newcastle.

Not only is the location changing, but also the date, having been moved out of school holidays to allow more flexibility for parents.
