World of Drones Congress descends on Brisbane

By on 11 September, 2019

Australia’s premier RPA and UAV conference comes in to land on Queensland’s capital on September 26 and 27.

The biggest event in the unmanned aerial space is due to land, with a comprehensive program of discussions, workshops and races, and an expected large attendance of local and international delegates.

With a strong focus on opportunities in the expansion of the global drone economy, the latest technology and the bleeding edge of unmanned applications, the congress aims to bring together startups and SMEs, pilots, application developers, researchers and manufacturers.

An accelerator hub will feature in the exhibitor hall, and the program features a bristling array of workshops with a distinct emphasis on education — both training for evolving RPAS capabilities, and leveraging unmanned aircraft for broader STEM education objectives.

“In its third year, the World of Drones Congress wants to support a community of change makers in Brisbane and help materialise great ideas into outcomes,” said congress convener Dr Catherine Ball.

“We are passionate about drones and their incredible capacity to change in order to meet needs – in 2019 the WoDC will foster the growth of start-up companies wanting to help respond to major challenges through technology and innovation,” she said.
