The Vicmap spatial upgrade coming from the Digital Cadastre Modernisation (DCM) project has begun, the aim of which is to provide an enhanced and more accurate digital representation of the cadastre.

Many users of Vicmap data will notice changes between now and December 2023, as DELWP delivers the upgrade area by area.

The changes are outlined in the recent Vicmap Change Management Notice #288 and on the Digital Cadastre Modernisation FAQ page.

To obtain more information, users can contact digital.cadastre@delwp.vic.gov.au to arrange a one-on-one briefing from the Vicmap project team. Alternately, they can register to attend an industry information session via the following links:

The sessions will outline the latest information about data coming out of DCM and into Vicmap, along with an overview of the tools available to help users harness the benefits. Each session will run for 45 minutes.

Still on the topic of Vicmap, there is a Vicmap User Reference Group (VURG) that meets quarterly, providing a forum for education and discussion.

The next VURG meeting will be held virtually on GIS day, 16 November, from 1:30 to 3:30pm. Contact Vicmap@delwp.vic.gov.au for details.
