GCA’s Victorian Summer Seminar is on this Friday

The Geospatial Council of Australia’s (GCA) 2024 Victorian Summer Seminar will be held in Melbourne on Friday, 2 February.

The event will take place between noon and 5:30pm AEDT at the C.R. Kennedy Auditorium at 300 Lorimer St, Port Melbourne. Registrations are now open.

The Seminar, which is supported by C.R. Kennedy, will give GCA members and other local surveying professionals the chance to hear the latest updates from the Surveyor-General of Victoria on legislation changes, long with presentations from a range of industry experts.

The program and presenters are as follows:

  • An update from Craig Sandy, the Surveyor-General of Victoria
  • Resolving validation errors in ePlan — presented by Mary Rabling FGCA, Absolute Surveying
  • Nick Pawley, Victorian Manager, Survey, C.R. Kennedy
  • Why bother with FIG? — presented by Rohan Bennett MGCA, Chair FIG Commission 7
  • Australia’s geocoded address file G-NAF — presented by Brian Marwick FGCA, Data Engineer, Geoscape
  • Beneath Our Feet: Unveiling the potential of 3D underground land administration — presented by Behnam Atazadeh, Centre for Spatial Data Infrastructures and Land Administration (CSDILA), The University of Melbourne
  • Geospatial Data Validation (GDV) Hub — presented by Andrej Mocicka FGCA, 1Spatial

Attendees will be eligible for the following points:

  • GCA
    • 4 CPD points
  • FPET
    • Cadastral Survey Practice points — 1.5
    • Development Planning points — 1.0
    • Other points — 1.25
