Held on Sunday, 9th February, 2020, the SSSI National Bushfire Recovery Map-a-thon was a way for the national and international community to work together to map a total of 2,793,879 hectares affected by recent Australian bushfires with the focus being on burnt infrastructure. Speakers:
Dr Lesley Arnold (SSSI National Board Director) will give an overview of the Map-a-thon initiative and discuss overall logistics of planning; industry, government and NGO engagement; the challenges and overall execution of the event.
Nathan Eaton, Executive Director, NGIS Australia will give an overview of the technical set-up of this mammoth Map-a-thon and highlight some of the challenges and triumphs experienced.
This is a free event open to those who participated in the Map-a-thon or are involved in the surveying and spatial community.

With no Spatial Information Day this year due to Locate23 being held in Adelaide, this event will be held to announce the 2023 South Australia award winners, whilst also showcasing some of last year’s incredible winning projects.
The evening will be an opportunity for networking with colleagues old and new, and for celebration of the local geospatial industry.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity for professionals in the field of land surveying to gather and expand their knowledge in the complexities of cadastral surveying. Participants will hear expert-led discussions into topics ranging from advanced surveying techniques to legal frameworks governing land boundaries, and gain invaluable insights to enhance their expertise and address the challenges of modern cadastral surveying practices.

BeGeo, an initiative of the Belgian National Geographical Institute (NGI), is an annual national event for the geo sector in Belgium.
The BeGeo conference combines with a geographic information fair to bring together a wide range of players from the public sector, academia, research, the private sector and associations. This year, the organisers have once again chosen Brussels Expo as the location for the event.
BeGeo says its vision is to be a platform where important players from the sector meet and thus actively contribute to the growth of the knowledge and competences necessary to tackle complex challenges and realise the great potential of geodata.
