As part of the GeoNext conference, Australian startups were given the chance to get in front of potential users and high-profile investors.
 
The judging panel consists of: Jodi Stanton, MH Carnegie; a representive form Sydney Angels; a representative from Pollenizer; JT Klepp, mobiOne; and Mark Carniello, Indji Systems.
 
Many entries were received, with the judging panel deciding on the following three finalists:
 
GeoLocarta is an open marketplace and point verification system for both consumer and professional level spatial data. Our unique systems integration and mobile application provides a direct-to-market framework for providers that streamlines the entire product flow from data collection to packaging, transferring, and delivery. Consumers will benefit from greater availability of up-to-date and highly relevant data they need to achieve their projects.
 
StreetHawk is the active personal shopper in your pocket that alerts you to the deals you want around you, and the locations you frequently shop. StreetHawk exposes the deep retail inventory around every shopper and makes it easy for them to find it. StreetHawk is powered by a cloud-based ‘RRR Matching Platform’, which means that offers are sent to the Right person, in the Right place, at the Right time. StreetHawk bases the matching on shopper preferences, 'Wants', and eventually their behaviours. Retailers have control to drive real-world, real-time footfall and loyalty with easy self-service listings.
 
buildAR.com was the first AR Content Management System in the world and with well over 5,000 signups is still the clear leader. buildAR lets you easily link your content to the real world to create Augmented Reality for a massive audience. buildAR was the winner of "most promising new technology" award at #tech23 in 2011 and has received glowing reviews from people all over the world.
 
GeoNext will run on the 29 February 2012 at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney, and registrations are still open.
