The International Forum on Satellite-Derived Bathymetry 2019
Esteemed speakers and guests from hydrographic offices, marine industry, service providers and research institutes around the world will gather for Australia’s first SDB Day in May 2019.
Satellite Derived Bathymetry (SDB) is a method for providing high-resolution water depth data in shallow water environments. These waters are notoriously difficult and expensive to access. The method combines satellite imagery with advanced algorithms to provide affordable and accurate data, and all within a relatively quick turnaround time.
The forum addresses the urgent need for both users and producers of SDB to jointly discuss capabilities, standards, data integration and handling uncertainties in its application.
The ITS Australia Summit 2022 in Brisbane will feature a strong industry program over three days driven by abstract submissions & invited keynote presentations, and will include technical tours & demonstrations, cutting edge industry exhibition, workshops, panel discussions, and an exciting social program.
As Australia’s leading transport technology event, Summit will demonstrate new insights and initiatives that will determine our path toward an accessible and automated future transport network.
SmartSat partners, participants, students and staff are invited to come together to share their research outcomes and network with industry colleagues at the SmartSat CRC Conference 2023.
The SmartSat CRC is a consortium of universities and other research organisations, partnered with industry that has been funded by the Australian Government to develop know-how and technologies in advanced telecommunications and IoT connectivity, intelligent satellite systems and Earth observation next generation data services.

Featuring a spotlight on crowd-sourced bathymetry, the Map the Gaps Symposium 2023 will bring people together to learn, share and contribute to ocean discovery.
Held on behalf of GEBCO, this event draws global experts in ocean technology, science and policy to discuss deep and coastal ocean exploration, offshore surveying technology, policy, diversity, equity and inclusion, the Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 project and GEBCO alumni activities.
Participation is open to all, including industry professionals, explorers, authors, students, researchers, government representatives and emerging technologists. Participants can attend in person or online.
BeGeo, an initiative of the Belgian National Geographical Institute (NGI), is an annual national event for the geo sector in Belgium.
The BeGeo conference combines with a geographic information fair to bring together a wide range of players from the public sector, academia, research, the private sector and associations. This year, the organisers have once again chosen Brussels Expo as the location for the event.
BeGeo says its vision is to be a platform where important players from the sector meet and thus actively contribute to the growth of the knowledge and competences necessary to tackle complex challenges and realise the great potential of geodata.
