Spatial in Crisis Management & 2021 APSEA-NSW @ Online seminar

Unable to hold its scheduled 2021 NSW Regional Conference earlier in 2022, SSSI is now inviting the spatial community to join it for a special online seminar featuring some of the speakers from the original program, along with the announcement of the NSW winners of the 2021 Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards.

This seminar will focus on the importance, efficiency and innovation spatial data can provide in crisis management situations and will feature presentations on:

  • Finding your Friendship Island amongst a sea of COVID restrictions — presented by Stella Blake-Kelly, Founder/Director, Cartisan
  • Geospatial Intelligence: Providing real-time insights supporting NSW State Emergency Service’s emergency management response — presented by Melissa Daley, Manager, Geospatial Intelligence Systems, NSW State Emergency Service
  • COVID-19 Near Me: Trials and tribulations — presented by Kenneth Tsang, Director, jxeeno

As Australia’s leading transport technology event, Summit will demonstrate new insights and initiatives that will determine our path toward an accessible and automated future transport network.

The Association of Public Authority Surveyors, NSW (APAS) annual conference for 2023 will be held at Opal Cove Resort in Coffs Harbour, from 20 to 22 March 2023.

The theme for the event will the ‘Pirates of the Cadastre’. The program is being developed, with a call for abstracts currently in place (as of June 2022).

Important dates and deadlines to note, are:

  • Abstract submission deadline: Friday, 23 September 2022
  • Draft paper deadline: Friday, 18 November 2022
  • Final paper deadline: Friday, 20 January 2023

SmartSat CRC Conference 2023 @ National Wine Centre, Adelaide

SmartSat partners, participants, students and staff are invited to come together to share their research outcomes and network with industry colleagues at the SmartSat CRC Conference 2023.

The SmartSat CRC is a consortium of universities and other research organisations, partnered with industry that has been funded by the Australian Government to develop know-how and technologies in advanced telecommunications and IoT connectivity, intelligent satellite systems and Earth observation next generation data services.

IGNSS 2024 conference @ UNSW Sydney

The IGNSS Association’s biennial international GNSS conference will return to UNSW Sydney from 7 to 9 February, 2024, where it will celebrate the first half-century of GNSS and look ahead to the next 50 years.

IGNSS 2024 will bring together experts, policy makers and emerging leaders from across the globe to examine the latest advances, present cutting edge research and discuss policy, market development and infrastructure.

The conference will also showcase Australia and New Zealand’s Southern Positioning Augmentation Network (SouthPAN), along with developments by other countries across the Asia-Pacific.

  • Development of GNSS receiver hardware and firmware
  • Precise position using smartphones

The organisers are encouraging early career researchers and industry representatives to present their work. The abstract submission process will open soon — keep an eye on the IGNSS website for announcements.
