![SICC Webinar: Reporting and Measuring Bushfire Mitigation Work, a Software Pilot](https://www.spatialsource.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/sssi-logo.jpg?w=280)
Eugene Lamnek created GeoIT Solutions in 2002, and has been developing ArcGIS customizations, add-ins and applications ever since. In this time Eugene has developed numerous bushfire applications for the CFS and the CFA as well as water and wastewater modelling software, asset management applications and interfaces, and open source applications for numerous clients including SA Water, Santos and DEW.
The Treatment Reporting System (TRS) currently in pilot phase, will allow organisations to store and manage their bushfire mitigation tasks, as well as measuring these tasks against the requirements of the Bushfire Management Area Plans (BMAPs). The system will allow users to store bushfire mitigation tasks, their spatial extent, values of work, time of work and completion status. Tasks are mapped and measured against required actions, defined by within the CFS BMAPs. The TRS will provide an effective mechanism for reporting the adequacy of on ground mitigation work (potentially at a State-wide level) by measuring mitigation work against well-defined mitigation targets. Users of the system will include local government, state government, private organisations and potentially even individual landholders.

Although it has been almost 50 years since there have been a requirement for field information to be lodged, Sec 71 (e) of the Cadastral Rules for Survey 2021 requires the submission of “all relevant field information, in a form that ensures permanent usability”.
While surveyors have been retaining field information electronically, LINZ has found that in many cases the data has been inadequate or needs specific software, or there can be difficulty identifying raw measurements after processing or to relate them to the dataset.
This seminar will share insights from knowledgeable suppliers and practitioners to assist surveyors develop systems and processes to comply with the Rules and to present electronic field data in a clearly readable way.
Participants can attend in person or online.

Like last year, it will be presented in a hybrid format, providing in-person physical participation for those able to attend in Brisbane and a high-quality digital experience for those who cannot.
Due to additional companies seeking display space, WoDaRC has moved to a larger space (the Boulevard Auditorium) within the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Auditorium will also cater to larger numbers and provide increased social distancing for all those attending sessions.
Physical and virtual registration options are available. Al registration options, physical and digital, include access to all congress sessions for six months post-event on an on-demand basis via the WoDaRC viewer portal.
