The Space Symposium attracts thousands of representatives of the space industry, governments, militaries, research agencies and more. The event brings all these groups together in one place to provide an opportunity to examine space issues from multiple perspectives, to promote dialog and to focus attention on critical space issues.
This year, the Space Symposium will be a hybrid in-person/virtual event, with the in-person sessions taking place in Boulder, Colorado, along with a vast exhibition display space which, this year, has been increased by 8,300 square metres.

Locate22 returns to the Nation’s Capital in the traditional format of a live event at the National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC). With the ability to be COVID safe, within a socially distanced environment, the NCCC is the perfect venue for Australia’s premier spatial and surveying conference. This year Locate22 will incorporate dedicated streams into the format of the conference. This will enable focused discussion from across industry sectors on how location technologies and practices are being used, highlighting the fundamental role they play in shaping Australia’s future.

LOCATE 22
The Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors (AIMS) National Conference will be held from 25 to and 27 May 2022 at the RACV Royal Pines Resort Gold Coast, Queensland.
The conference will begin on the Wednesday with optional workshops and a welcome dinner, followed the next day by a full program of sessions on a range of topics plus networking with sponsors within the network market place. There will have a final dinner on Thursday evening at the hotel, while Friday will again see a full day of conferring and networking.
Well-known comedian Elliot Goblet (described as “one of the most original comedians in the history of the known universe”) will be the MC for the welcome dinner, while the equally well-known sporting personality Sam Kekovich has been confirmed as the keynote speaker (“you know it makes sense”).

UPDATE, 27 January 2022: Montgomery Asia, the organiser of Geo Connect Asia, has announced new dates for the Show and Conference, which had been scheduled for 23 and 24 March 2022. The event will now be held across 1 and 2 June 2022 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore.
The date change will allow time for local event restrictions and international travel rules to gradually relax and facilitate expanded business and networking opportunities across core Asian markets.

It is often challenging for new entrants into the aerial imagery and mapping service profession to determine cost savings when it comes to their processing software solution. Smaller sensors, altitude restrictions, line of sight requirements and overall flight duration create unique challenges for drone operators. Medium and large format sensors acquire much larger areas, but require a much larger investment, or the ability to subcontract out the acquisition. Mapping expenses tend to increase as projects become larger. And using the wrong image processing software can exacerbate this, leading to narrowing project profits. The Andy Thomas Space Foundation is looking forward to welcoming a global audience to the 16th edition of the Australian Space Forum, to be held in Sydney on 6 December 2023.
This will be the first time the Forum will have been held in a city other than Adelaide; the organisers announced at the 15th Forum in May 2023 that from then on, every second Forum will be held in a city other than Adelaide.
The Forum provides an ideal opportunity to stimulate ideas, share information about emerging technologies and network with influential space sector leaders and the broader community.
The Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors (AIMS) Mudgee Regional Seminar will be held at Parklands Resort, Mudgee, NSW, on 22 March 2024. There will also be an optional dinner at a local brewery the evening prior.
