CONVERGENCE, COLLABORATION AND COMMUNITY – TOWARDS A STRONGER ECONOMY
Brisbane will host the Locate Conference in 2021 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre between the 30th March and 1st of April. Here we will share from across industry sectors how Geospatial and Location technologies and practices are being used, highlighting the fundamental role they play in the building of our digital economy. We will also explore and facilitate the convergence of the spatial industry and the influence and importance of our industry to broader, non-traditional, industries and the Australian economy. Spatial data and location services now underpin many activities driving us to explore collaborative partnerships with businesses in other sectors, working together to produce a greater whole and to recognize new ways of doing things.
Locate21 will also look at how new technology and practices are equipping us to meet the challenges our planet is faced with, how we can learn from our collective experiences and share in new collaborative partnerships that will enhance the ecosystem of the geospatial community and ensure the value of location data to inform and enable good decision making is recognized by the broader community.
The 17th ITS Asia Pacific Forum has been postponed to April 2021 and is being hosted in Brisbane by ITS Australia at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The 4 day forum will include a strong industry program including tours and demonstrations, an exhibition, as well as an exciting social program. The 2020 ITS APAC Forum Theme of “ITS Innovation Creating Liveable Communities” will demonstrate Australia’s new initiatives and adapted learnings from the advances of our neighbouring mega cities. Key topics to be covered included MaaS (Mobility as a Service), Autonomous Vehicles, Data Analytics and network development.
Brisbane is a multicultural and dynamic city with first class facilities that is conveniently accessible to the APAC region. ITS Australia has no doubts that Brisbane will ensure the 17th Asia Pacific Forum will be a highlight in the ITS Calendars and that visitors from the APAC region will experience a great range of smart technology initiatives and receive a very warm welcome.
The Space Symposium attracts thousands of representatives of the space industry, governments, militaries, research agencies and more. It moves to much larger space right on the Las Vegas Strip for 2021 and adds a collocated Urban Air Mobility Summit produced by RAI Amsterdam. Locate22 returns to the Nation’s Capital in the traditional format of a live event at the National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC). With the ability to be COVID safe, within a socially distanced environment, the NCCC is the perfect venue for Australia’s premier spatial and surveying conference. SmartSat partners, participants, students and staff are invited to come together to share their research outcomes and network with industry colleagues at the SmartSat CRC Conference 2023.
The SmartSat CRC is a consortium of universities and other research organisations, partnered with industry that has been funded by the Australian Government to develop know-how and technologies in advanced telecommunications and IoT connectivity, intelligent satellite systems and Earth observation next generation data services.

The Andy Thomas Space Foundation is looking forward to welcoming a global audience to the 16th edition of the Australian Space Forum, to be held in Sydney on 6 December 2023.
This will be the first time the Forum will have been held in a city other than Adelaide; the organisers announced at the 15th Forum in May 2023 that from then on, every second Forum will be held in a city other than Adelaide.
The Forum provides an ideal opportunity to stimulate ideas, share information about emerging technologies and network with influential space sector leaders and the broader community.
