After too long an absence, we’re delighted to announce that GeoRabble Sydney will be back, on Thursday October 18th, from 6PM at the Occidental Hotel in York Street.

Theme of this Rabble is “The Unusual Suspects” – celebrating the unusual, unsuspected, and surprising applications of geoinformation and -technology. Think using GPS for herding cattle, new uses of drones, photogrammetry in health, GIS on Mars, mapping in insurance and finance, to name just a few.
We are looking for speakers who have an ‘unusual suspect’ story to tell, in under 10 minutes. Do you have a story to tell about a left-field application, please let us know via email: sydney@georabble.org.

During 2020 an expert group drafted the SPACE+SPATIAL Industry Growth Roadmap 2030 – a national snapshot for Australian professionals to better understand the bold new future that’s rapidly approaching and what it means for them, their careers, their organisations and all of Australia.
The National Steering Committee is seeking feedback on the Roadmap from spatial professionals of all levels across the country. There are a number of ways to get involved, one of which is to participate in this SSSI and SIBA|GITA SPACE+SPATIAL Roadmap Online Session.
You will hear about the key plans, activities and issues and have the opportunity to have a meaningful discussion with colleagues about your thoughts on the Roadmap Consultation Paper and the topic in general.

This year Locate22 will incorporate dedicated streams into the format of the conference. This will enable focused discussion from across industry sectors on how location technologies and practices are being used, highlighting the fundamental role they play in shaping Australia’s future.

BeGeo, an initiative of the Belgian National Geographical Institute (NGI), is an annual national event for the geo sector in Belgium.
The BeGeo conference combines with a geographic information fair to bring together a wide range of players from the public sector, academia, research, the private sector and associations. This year, the organisers have once again chosen Brussels Expo as the location for the event.
BeGeo says its vision is to be a platform where important players from the sector meet and thus actively contribute to the growth of the knowledge and competences necessary to tackle complex challenges and realise the great potential of geodata.
