AI made easy: Picterra launches GUI-based model-building tool

By on 24 January, 2019

Swiss startup Picterra has launched a GUI-based, interactive tool for users to build their own artificial intelligence (AI) model at the Unmanned Systems Expo in Rotterdam last week.

Exhibiting at the conference, the Picterra demonstrated its custom detector, a tool allows users of its online platform to build their own AI model to detect objects in aerial and satellite images.

Based around a graphical user interface (GUI), custom detector allows users without any knowledge of machine learning to create their own AI detection model and train it to identify their specific objects of interest, according to material released by the firm.

The customised model detects the user-defined objects, and allows exporing of these detections as a .csv file, KML, GeoJSON, and shapefile formats for integration into a geospatial analytics wokflow, according to Picterra.

One of Picterra’s other core products is AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS), which lets users test and implement large-scale AI-powered geospatial analytics programs without the need to invest in their own resources.
