Space Weather Users Workshop 2015

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology’s Space Weather Services will be holding its inaugural Space Weather Users Workshop at the Bureau’s New South Wales offices in Sydney. The one day workshop will provide an opportunity to hear from expert speakers, owners and operators of technological systems susceptible to space weather and other users of space weather services.

The workshop will also provide the opportunity to tour the Australian Space Forecast Centre, learn more about the Bureau’s space weather services, and to provide feedback on existing and future services.

Event organisers have indicated that space weather impacts a variety of technological systems and infrastructure that are essential for our daily activities, including:

  • power and energy supply
  • precision navigation and timing systems
  • aviation and transport
  • satellites and communications
