Western Australia’s Spatial WA Program team has submitted a detailed Project Definition Plan (PDP) to the state government for approval as part of the 2023–24 December mid-year review.

In its latest email circular, the Spatial WA Program team advised that it has been “undertaking detailed planning to support the implementation of an Advanced Spatial Digital Twin (ASDT), comprising a Next Generation Spatial Cadastre Platform and a Spatial Digital Twin Platform”.

The team has also been engaging with its counterparts in other states and territories to gather more information about their spatial digital twin projects and any challenges they may have encountered.

The PDP submitted to the state government covers:

  • The use cases to be delivered by the ASDT
  • A detailed implementation approach and schedule
  • Detailed requirements for the technology platforms

Assuming the PDP is approved, implementation will begin with procurement processes being commenced for the platforms in early 2024.

Once the WA government has made its decision at the mid-year review, the market will be notified of the next steps in relation to procurement. Interested parties can register on Tenders WA for early notification of tenders issued.
