Former federal senator and experienced board director, Kate Lundy, has been appointed Independent Non-Executive Director on the board of the Geospatial Council of Australia (GCA).
Lundy served for more than 19 years as a federal senator for the Australian Capital Territory, followed by a long career in corporate leadership. She currently serves on the boards of several significant organisations, including the Australian Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre, the Canberra Institute of Technology, Electro Optical Systems, NRMA and the National Youth Science Forum.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kate Lundy to the GCA board,” said Paul Digney, President of the GCA. “Her extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, coupled with her passion for technology and innovation, will undoubtedly strengthen our organisation’s leadership and contribute to our mission of promoting excellence and inclusivity within the geospatial sector.”
“I am honoured to join the GCA during this transformative phase following the merger of SIBA and SSSI,” said Lundy. “I see this consolidation as an inspiring step forward, and I am committed to continuing the legacy of visionary leaders like Peter Woodgate.”
“My focus is on fostering the relevance and impact of the geospatial sector, and I look forward to working collaboratively with our members to drive excellence and innovation in our industry.”
