CR Kennedy has inked a deal to be the exclusive Australian distributor for Pix4D, marking the pact with a series of workshops this month allowing Australian users to learn straight from the developers.

“Pix4D has the leading drone photogrammetry software on the market, and CR Kennedy is honored to now be the sole distributor in Australia,” says CR Kennedy director Robert Kennedy. “It gives us the incentive to invest in their products and training on a nationwide basis.”

Pix4D representatives will be running the two workshops, scheduled for 19-20 October and 24-25 October, out of CR Kennedy’s offices in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.

According to Pix4D, the 2-day in-person training sessions are aimed at professionals using photogrammetry, orthomosaics, 3D modelling and UAVs in their practice. Pix4D personnel will be on hand to teach practitioners how to create accurate maps and models, as well as improve their results using Pix4D software solutions, including its flagship product Pix4DMapper .

“Over the last year, Pix4D has organised 59 workshops and trained 2000 professionals around the world,” says Pix4D’s Ana Soares.

“These workshops have been very popular within the Pix4D community and we are glad to provide the opportunity to our Australian users to attend a Pix4D User Workshop.”

The software provider recently rolled out Pix4Dmapper 4.0, which  incorporates machine-learning tools, allowing users to classify 3D point clouds into categories like buildings, roads or vegetation.

“This is really cutting edge technology,” says CR Kennedy’s Robert Kennedy.

He adds that users should be prepared to take a deep dive into Pix4D’s solutions. “It’s not often that you get the opportunity to get trained by the guys who are actually developing these tools,” he says.
