NT Spatial 2012 is a spatial and surveying conference to be held from the 21st to 23rd March 2012 at the Darwin Convention Centre, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.

The overall theme of the event is Northern Exposure “Science and Applications”. The theme encapsulates the isolated geography of northern Australia and the immediate region, and also the challenges, technical issues and experiences of spatial professionals who work in this environment.

Hence through NT Spatial 2012 it is anticipated that we can bring a greater level of exposure to the innovative scientific research, projects and applications being delivered by the spatial community in northern Australia and our neighbours in South-East Asia.

SSSI Committee Chair, and Surveyor General of the Northern Territory, Mr Garry West has said that “the conference will provide interested persons and special interest groups the opportunity to discuss, and be informed about, surveying and the spatial sciences both within our region and beyond”.

The event will also incorporate the inaugural NT Spatial Awards night dinner, which, in recognising the contributions of individuals to the spatial profession, promises to be a memorable night of celebrations.
