CSDILA to celebrate its 25th anniversary this month

By on 16 October, 2026

The Centre for Spatial Data Infrastructures and Land Administration (CSDILA) will mark its 25th anniversary with an online celebration on Thursday, 29 October 2026.

The event will bring together the CSDILA community from around the world to look back on the Centre’s journey, acknowledge the people and partnerships that have contributed to its impact, and take a look into its future.

During those 25 years, the Centre has brought together researchers, practitioners, government, industry and international partners to advance geospatial research, innovation and education.

CSDILA was established at the University of Melbourne in November 2001, with a vision to advance spatial data infrastructures and modernise land administration systems to help address the complex challenges facing governments and societies.

Over the past two-and-a-half decades, the Centre has grown into an international community of researchers, students, collaborators and partners working across land administration, spatial data infrastructures, urban planning, sustainability and climate resilience, digital twins, transport and mobility, and emerging geospatial technologies.

Past and present CSDILA alumni, colleagues, collaborators, partners, students and friends are invited to join the celebration.

The event will take place on Thursday, 29 October 2026, from 4:00pm to 5:30 pm AEDT. Registrations are available online.
