Mipela GeoSolutions unveils X-Info Aware for iPhones

By on 27 September, 2011

Australian company Mipela GeoSolutions has unveiled X-Info Aware for iPhones, designed for on-site data capture for anyone working out in the field. The app allows users to create geonotes, and associate text, images, video and audio recordings with map locations.

X-Info Aware also lets users to cache OpenStreetMap images for use offline, if unable to access the internet while in the field. Support for industry-standard spatial layer formats allows superimposing information directly onto the map.

It supports importing KML files over email or from Safari, and also supports sending geonotes via email, or downloading them through iTunes.

This is the initial release of the app, which will be continually updated with new features and support for other spatial formats. Tighter integration with Mipela GeoSolution's other products is also planned, and development of a Pro version of X-Info Aware is being considered.

X-Info Aware is available now from the App Store for free. Visit www.mipela.com.au for more details.
