IPIN 2012 call for papers

By on 24 April, 2012

The IEEE sponsored Indoor Positioning and Navigation series of conferences was launched in 2010 by Prof. Rainer Mautz, at ETH Zurich, and is now the largest conference specifically dedicated to the challenges of indoor positioning & navigation.

IPIN 2012 will take place on the 13-15th November, 2012, at the University of NSW, in Sydney, Australia.

Researchers at the School of Surveying & Spatial Information Systems, UNSW, have been conducting indoor positioning research for more than 10 years, including designing and testing various indoor positioning systems based on WLAN or MEMS-INS technologies, as well as proprietary RF-based systems such as Locata.

IPIN2012 is now calling for papers. Abstracts should be submitted by 15 May 2012, with short and full papers to be submitted by 15 August 2012. For more information on submitting a paper, including the topics of interest, download the Call for Papers from http://www.surveying.unsw.edu.au/ipin2012/CallForPapers.pdf

More information on the conference is available at http://www.surveying.unsw.edu.au/ipin2012.

As has been the custom at previous IPIN conferences, the organisers encourage participants to bring along their own positioning system to demonstrate it to other delegates.

IPIN 2012 call for papers

By on 14 February, 2012

A call for papers for the 3rd International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN) is now underway.

The conference will take place on 13-15th November, 2012 at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.

The UNSW School of Surveying and Spatial Information Systems (SSIS) is Australia's largest concentration of academic research and development in wireless, ground-based and satellite-based technology, and one of the world's leading academic institutes in such areas. The main UNSW campus is located on a 38-hectare site at Kensington, seven kilometres from the centre of Sydney and two kilometres from the Pacific Ocean.

The first IPIN conference was organised in September 2010 by Professor Hilmar Ingensand and Dr. Rainer Mautz from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. For its first edition, it was a huge success and gathered around 450 specialists of indoor positioning. The second edition was organised by Associate Professor Adriano Moreira      from the University of Minho in Guimaraes, Portugal. More than 250 delegates from all over the world attended. Next year, we invite to you to Sydney to share your knowledge, network with your peers and learn about indoor positioning techniques.
