DroneShield and ISI partner on drone-killing Rapid Scout vehicle

Next-generation Rapid Scout mobile surveillance base will feature DroneShield technology to allow it to ‘detect and defeat’ UAVs.

Drone countermeasure producer DroneShield and security and surveillance equipment purveyor Intelligent Security Integration (ISI) have joined forces to develop a next-generation surveillance vehicle with drone-killing capabilities.

The Rapid Scout HQ is ISI’s flagship product, a van-based mobile surveillance platform utilising the firm’s suite of surveillance sensors, designed to provide coverage in areas that traditional CCTV systems’ coverage is limited.

The new platform will incorporate a drone detection radar and a radio frequency-based drone detection tool on the vehicle’s CCTV mast, with the option to add a DroneCannon jamming module.

Oleg Vornik, DroneShield’s CEO commented: “The partnership with an on-vehicle surveillance market leader ISI allows DroneShield to enter the vehicle-based law enforcement, security and military market, using a proven vehicle platform that ISI provides. There is a considerable interest in the market today for on-vehicle counterdrone products, which Rapid Scout® is well placed to meet using DroneShield’s capability.”

The product will be launched at Australian-based international defence exhibition Land Forces 2018, taking place in Adelaide on 4-6 September.
