Aerial traffic management (UTM) technology supplier Altitude Angel, has partnered with drone mitigation firm DroneShield.
The firms say that the integration of their product suites will allow them to offer ‘single-point situational awareness’ to customers like domestic authorities and airport operators in controlled airspace.
Altitude Angel’s offerings allows airport providers to incorporate unmanned vehicles into their airspace under controlled conditions. Its traffic management system, GuardianUTM (offering automated approvals to fly in controlled airspace and enhanced airport safeguarding) has been adopted by NATS, the UK’s leading supplier of air navigation services.
DroneShield are primarily known for their DroneGun and Sentry counter-UAV products.
Toby Potter, Vice President of Sales at Altitude Angel said that the ability to gain accurate knowledge of who or what is in the atmosphere means that informed decisions can be taken at the right time, and will allow effective responses to be mounted.
“Marrying GuardianUTM with DroneShield’s powerful detection systems will deliver a comprehensive solution to the industry and one I am very much looking forward to providing to our customers worldwide,” he said.
Oleg Vornik, DroneShield’s CEO stated said that air safety incidents with civilian UAVs are becoming routine at airports globally, causing risks to passengers and huge losses.
“Civil infrastructure operators are in need of an urgent solution,” he said.
“We are proud to be co-operating with Altitude Angel, the sole provider of unmanned traffic management services to the UK airspace, to secure the airspace for customers both in the UK and globally.”
