Consulting Surveyors Victoria has released its 2026 strategic plan.

The plan has a range of foci including advocacy, recognition, certification, education and member support.

It also sets out a vision for a “prosperous and sustainable private sector of surveying businesses delivering services of the highest quality,” with the peak body aiming to be the “trusted representative body for all businesses providing surveying services in Victoria”.

The plan is built upon four pillars — Voice, Value, Knowledge and Capability — and a set of guiding values such as excellence, responsiveness and inclusiveness.

According to the document, Consulting Surveyors Victoria (CSV) will “maintain a strong focus on supporting surveying firms while ensuring individuals working within those firms have access to high-quality professional development, information and industry leadership”.

Four foundations

Under the Voice pillar, CSV will provide advocacy for:

  • Planning and regulatory reform (e.g. planning system reform, ePlans)
  • Land administration and system performance (e.g. engagement with agencies)
  • Workforce and professional recognition (e.g. Licensing Pathways Pilot)
  • Business sustainability and operating environment (e.g. insurance, compliance and regulation)
  • National alignment and harmonisation (e.g. industry collaborations, standards)

The Value pillar will see a focus on:

  • Professional learning and CPD (e.g. seminars, workshops)
  • Revenue sustainability and growth
  • Practical business support for member firms

Pillar 3, Knowledge, will cover:

  • Education partnerships (e.g. collaborations)
  • Technical knowledge and guidance (e.g. dissemination of guidance material)
  • Formal pathways and professional development

And the Capability pillar will encompass internal efforts to do with:

  • Governance, systems and organisational strength
  • Financial sustainability
  • Technology and systems
  • Organisational capability

CSV has set a number of performance indicators across all of the pillars to “ensure accountability and continuous improvement”.
