By on 9 January, 2019

Agrifutures Australia have announced that their Horizons scholarship program, offering a $5,000 bursary, is open for applications.

The program is open to students studying agriculture-related degrees, and offers a range of professional development opportunities with industry partners, in addition to the bursary.

The 2019 round brings a suite of changes to the program, aimed at fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration and recognising the development of the industry, according to Agrifutures.

The scholarship will now be awarded for the final two years of a student’s degree, and eligible degrees have been extended to include Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) degrees with major studies and subject selections relevant and aligned to agriculture.

Agrifutures says that students in tradtional agriculture degrees are still welcomed, but has also extended eligibility criteria to include those sectors that ‘support the prosperity of rural industries, including logistics, communications and IT.

Applications for the Horizons scholarship program are open until March 1, and application forms and further details can be found at the Agrifutures website.
