The International Cartographic Association (ICA) Commission on Atlases, the ICA Commission on Map Design, the Joint ICA-IGU Commission on Toponymy, the National Geographic Institute of Spain (IGN) and the Spanish Society for Cartography, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (SECFT) will jointly host a conference on atlases, toponymy and map design in Madrid.
During six sessions of four presentations each, questions concerning evolving dissemination concepts and techniques for atlases, recent development and examples of national atlases as well as important map design and toponomastic issues in atlas production will be discussed.
The theme of the event will be ‘Atlases in time’. Presentations will be held in a 20-minute format of 15 minutes presenting and 5 minutes discussion.
The Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors (AIMS) National Conference will be held from 25 to and 27 May 2022 at the RACV Royal Pines Resort Gold Coast, Queensland.
The conference will begin on the Wednesday with optional workshops and a welcome dinner, followed the next day by a full program of sessions on a range of topics plus networking with sponsors within the network market place. There will have a final dinner on Thursday evening at the hotel, while Friday will again see a full day of conferring and networking.
Well-known comedian Elliot Goblet (described as “one of the most original comedians in the history of the known universe”) will be the MC for the welcome dinner, while the equally well-known sporting personality Sam Kekovich has been confirmed as the keynote speaker (“you know it makes sense”).

BeGeo, an initiative of the Belgian National Geographical Institute (NGI), is an annual national event for the geo sector in Belgium.
The BeGeo conference combines with a geographic information fair to bring together a wide range of players from the public sector, academia, research, the private sector and associations. This year, the organisers have once again chosen Brussels Expo as the location for the event.
BeGeo says its vision is to be a platform where important players from the sector meet and thus actively contribute to the growth of the knowledge and competences necessary to tackle complex challenges and realise the great potential of geodata.
The Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors (AIMS) Mudgee Regional Seminar will be held at Parklands Resort, Mudgee, NSW, on 22 March 2024. There will also be an optional dinner at a local brewery the evening prior.
