The National Surveying Congress will be an opportunity for leaders in the surveying profession to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the profession. The 2022 Congress theme is ‘Automatic Mutual Relaxation’.
As the profession comes to understand the impact of Automatic Mutual Recognition for surveyors across the country, the event will provide an opportunity for surveyors from across Australia to gather and discuss the issues facing the profession and the opportunities for the future. The highlight of the program each year is the Cadastral Leaders Panel which sees all the Surveyors-General on stage speaking about changes and opportunities in their states and territories as well as an update from ICSM and ANZLIC. There will also be an online option.
The National Surveying Consultancy Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner will be held on the second day of the event, 23 June 2022.
The ITS Australia Summit 2022 in Brisbane will feature a strong industry program over three days driven by abstract submissions & invited keynote presentations, and will include technical tours & demonstrations, cutting edge industry exhibition, workshops, panel discussions, and an exciting social program.
As Australia’s leading transport technology event, Summit will demonstrate new insights and initiatives that will determine our path toward an accessible and automated future transport network.
The 2022 Tasmania Surveying & Spatial Conference will be held on Friday, 2 September at Wrest Point in Hobart, and promises to be a fantastic opportunity to learn and network with SSSI members and the broader surveying and spatial community.
This year’s event will include a gala dinner, held in partnership with the University of Tasmania, to celebrate that institution’s 50 years in the field of surveying and spatial teaching.
In addition, the event will include the presentation of the 2022 Tasmanian Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards.

The Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) will convene the second United Nations World Geospatial Information Congress (UNWGIC) in Hyderabad, India from 10-14 October 2022.
Hosted by the Government of India through its Ministry of Science and Technology, the convening of the UNWGIC arises out of the mandate from the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) to the Committee of Experts to convene global forums to promote comprehensive dialogue on global geospatial information management with all relevant governments, international organisations and stakeholders.
With an overarching theme ‘Geo-Enabling the Global Village: No one should be left behind,’ the second UNWGIC will reflect the importance of integrated geospatial information to support sustainable development and the wellbeing of society, address environmental and climate challenges, embrace digital transformation and technological development, and catalyse vibrant economies.
The congress addresses the development and strengthening of integrated geospatial information management, its capacities and capabilities, and demonstrates the importance of international cooperation and coordination for building a human data and geography community, against the three pillars of sustainable development, for a shared future and a better world, leaving no one behind within an inclusive and equitable global society.
The UNWGIC will feature a high-level, plenary, special and parallel sessions. While the actual second UNWGIC program covers three days (11 – 13 October), the overall event will be a weeklong (10 – 14 October), and will include global and regional meetings, workshops and learning events, expert meetings and side events, including the eleventh plenary meeting of the Regional Committee of United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management for Asia and the Pacific (UN-GGIM-AP), as well as the annual meeting of the UN-GGIM Expanded Bureau.
The 2022 SSSI Queensland Regional Conference will be held on Friday, 14 October at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. It promises to once again be a fantastic opportunity to learn and connect with SSSI members and the broader surveying and spatial community.
The Queensland Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards dinner will also be held in conjunction with the conference, celebrating the outstanding work being undertaken across the region.

The 2022 SSSI Victorian Surveying & Spatial Summit and APSEA-V Dinner will take place on Thursday, 27 October 2022. It will be an opportunity for all Victorian surveying and spatial professionals to come together to learn, share and connect.
The event will feature an array of speakers, along with plenty of networking opportunities and the chance to see the latest products and services from local suppliers.

The 2022 SSSI NSW Regional Conference will be held on Thursday 10 November and Friday 11 November 2022 at the Novotel Sydney Central. The theme will be ‘Connections’.
This regular event is an opportunity to learn from and connect with other SSSI members and the broader geospatial community.
The first day will comprise the main conference, with speakers presenting on various topics, followed by the NSW & ACT Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards dinner in the evening.
The second day will be a NSW Spatial Digital Twin workshop, an interactive session that will get ‘under the bonnet,’ looking at data sharing, use cases and more.

The Geospatial Council of Australia invites industry members to participate in the special South Australian Geospatial Excellence Awards reception on Friday, 27 October 2023, in the Riverbank Rooms at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
With no Spatial Information Day this year due to Locate23 being held in Adelaide, this event will be held to announce the 2023 South Australia award winners, whilst also showcasing some of last year’s incredible winning projects.
The evening will be an opportunity for networking with colleagues old and new, and for celebration of the local geospatial industry.
