The FIG Congress — the largest and most prestigious conference of surveying and geospatial professionals — will this year be held in Poland.
The organisers are expecting an attendance of 1,000 to 1,500 surveying and geospatial experts from all over the world.
This year the local host is the Association of Polish Surveyors, and the conference theme is ‘Volunteering for the future – Geospatial excellence for a better living’. Geospatial excellence and all related professions and topics are now seen in a much broader context and as public goods and beneficial for the well-being and betterment of the entire society.
The sub themes are:
- Surveyor 4.0
- The surveying profession in and after COVID times
- Open access to data
- Surveying competence for other disciplines
The FIG Congress 2022 will give passionate professionals the opportunity to:
- Learn globally, with participation from around 80 to 90 countries
- Learn across silos, from other countries, industries and professional roles – with sessions and representation from a broad range of surveyors and geospatial experts
- Have influence on careers, organisations and communities
The Geo Connect Asia conference provides a strategic and collaborative platform for industry professionals, government agencies and start-ups to come together to build and develop knowledge and solutions for Asia’s geospatial & location intelligence markets. It also comprises panel sessions to provide interactive responses to real and current challenges.
Geo Connect Asia 2023 (GCA 2023) will have full focus on a face-to-face show format, featuring more hands-on opportunities for visitors to experience different elements, modules and applications of geospatial data.
GCA 2023 will also see the launch of a dedicated UAV-focused industry show, Drones Asia, covering an entire hall with several on-site showcases of drones, cameras, launch & recovery systems, and sensors, as well as the latest technology for satellite & remote sensing, launch & recovery systems, surveillance & reconnaissance, and training & simulation.

The Association of Public Authority Surveyors, NSW (APAS) annual conference for 2023 will be held at Opal Cove Resort in Coffs Harbour, from 20 to 22 March 2023.
The theme for the event will the ‘Pirates of the Cadastre’. The program is being developed, with a call for abstracts currently in place (as of June 2022).
Important dates and deadlines to note, are:

Throughout history, surveyors have remained the pioneers of discovery shaping our world to its current existence by exploring the unknown on earth and in space. The World of Drones and Robotics Congress New Zealand (WoDaRC NZ) is shaping up as an unmissable event for anyone involved in robotics, drones, AI, AgTech and data-led innovation. Planning is underway for the S+SNZ 2023 Annual Conference which will be held at Otago University in Dunedin from 30 August through to 1 September 2023.
The S+SNZ conference is the biggest continuing professional development event of the year for NZ surveying and spatial professionals. It invites sharing of knowledge amongst peers, bringing together networking opportunities for all delegates and is an essential event for professional development and connectivity within the sector.
The annual Geo Connect Asia Show & Conferences offers a two day, in-person meeting place for ASEAN’s vibrant geospatial community. Bringing geospatial solutions to the heart of decision-making the event combines with technologies from the digital construction, drone and remote sensing markets.
Geo Connect Asia looks to host its ASEAN neighbours and build on a vibrant community as new technologies add new application tools to enable the Industry 4.0 Revolution. The emergence of AI, blockchain, IoT, robotics and UAVs create a new dynamic and platforms for a region well equipped to take on the challenges ahead.
The Wavelength meeting was launched in 2013 for PhD students and early career researchers, addressing the demand for representation of new professionals as well as students from RSPSoc — the UK society for remote sensing and photogrammetry science.
Every year, Wavelength gathers participants from student and early career levels, as well as senior members and individuals within academia and business. The conference offers a setting to present student and EC work and meet new, like-minded contacts.
The 2024 conference will be run in a hybrid format, to accommodate those who can and those who cannot travel to Worcester.
The New Zealand: Digital Twin 2024 Summit will explore the roadmap of digital twin systems and their impact on each stage of a project, and explore the core values, challenges and opportunities unique to the priorities of New Zealand and how digital twins can deliver them.
The event will feature real stories of success and failure, research insights, and focus not just on what has already happened but also on the potential of digital twins and where key opportunities for timely innovation appear to be.
Delegates will hear from technical experts, industry leaders and researchers in an experience designed to support the development of a dynamic and scalable digital twin ecosystem in New Zealand.
The 4th International Symposium on Applied Geoinformatics (ISAG2024), which will take place at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Wroclaw, Poland, on 9 and 10 May 2024. ISAG2024 is jointly organised by the Department of Geomatics Engineering, Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Türkiye, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Wroclaw, Poland and Technical University of Crete, Chania, Crete, Greece.
The aim of the 4th ISAG is to bring scientists, engineers and industry researchers together to exchange and share their experiences and research results and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted in geoinformatics.
Topics to be covered include recent advances in AI, satellite imagery, advanced remote sensing, photogrammetry, image processing, global navigation satellite systems, height systems, terrestrial laser scanning, GIS, smart cities and land management.
