As the investment centre of gravity related to space shifts towards leading economies in the Indo-Pacific, we must think together about shared opportunities, challenges and risks around the ‘Zone Above’.
In collaboration with The University of Western Australia (UWA), the Perth USAsia Centre is convening the 2018 In The Zone Conference, the latest in a series founded to provide a strategic forum for Indo-Pacific policymakers, advocates, business and academic leaders to grapple with issues of shared regional concern. This year’s In the Zone will focus on capability, security and expansion into space and is titled The Zone Above: The Indo-Pacific Era in Space.

The 42nd Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing will be a virtual event that will bring together academics, practitioners, vendors and policymakers from the remote sensing community in an informative and productive four-day event under the theme of Understanding Our World: Remote Sensing For A Sustainable Future. Survey and Spatial NZ’s 2022 conference will be held from 1 to 3 August at the Novotel Lakeside, Rotorua. The conference is the biggest continuing professional development event of the year for NZ surveying and spatial professionals. It invites sharing of knowledge amongst peers, bringing together networking opportunities for all delegates and is an essential event for professional development and connectivity within the sector.
The choice of Rotorua as the location is apt, given the conference theme of ‘Turning up the Heat’. The organisers aim to stimulate discussion regarding challenges in regional areas, which include climate change and developments outside of Auckland.
Australia’s first dedicated Micromobility Conference and Expo will give delegates the opportunity to learn about best practices from international and Australian experts.
After hearing from inspirational keynote speakers, the Micromobility Conference will break into delegates’ choice of two themes on each of its two days.
Delegates will also be able to see best practice examples via facilities tours to be hosted by expert practitioners from the City of Sydney, with e-bikes and helmets provided. They’ll also be able to visit the Micromobility Expo, to be run concurrently at Royal Randwick Racecourse, which will include a huge range of exhibits plus safe, traffic free test riding opportunities.
The Micromobility Conference will be a great opportunity to make new contacts, develop your professional skills, to learn about both the bigger picture trends and latest technical information and to simply be inspired and encouraged.
