Join us for the first session in our ‘Locate Connect’ online learning series! Hear from Scott Dewar, Director, Chris Hewett, Assistant Secretary GEOINT Capability and Development & Phil Shears, Director DEF799 Phase 2.
In this session from 1300 – 1400, the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO) will be launching the Defence Geospatial-Intelligence (GEOINT) Strategy, a document that addresses how the Defence GEOINT Community will transform to meet the future needs of the Australian Defence Force. The AGO Executive will also provide an update on their GEOINT projects and announce upcoming opportunities for industry and discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the organisation.
Then from 1430 – 1545, AGO, along with Frontier SI will describe how The Analytics Lab Program (AGO Labs) fits into the bigger picture of AGO capability and summarise the outcomes of their 2019 activities. AGO Labs, coordinated through FrontierSI, is investigating a number of ways to better engage and work with industry. Specifically, the AGO is keen to attract a wider pool of companies and technologies to draw on for automated geospatial intelligence. The primary focus of this program is to address AGO capability challenges through a small number of short-term industry projects, with a focus on machine learning and analytics for producing automated imagery analysis, including automated object classification. AGO will announce a new 2020 program of challenges hoping to find innovative solutions through their partnership with FrontierSI.

The 10th Land Administration Domain Model Workshop (LADM 2022) will be held in Dubrovnik, Croatia from 31 March to 2 April 2022. This is an on-site event at Hotel Dubrovnik Palace, with possibilities for remote participation. The workshop is being organised in conjunction with 7th Croatian Congress on Cadastre.

The Geospatial Council of Australia invites industry members to participate in the special South Australian Geospatial Excellence Awards reception on Friday, 27 October 2023, in the Riverbank Rooms at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
With no Spatial Information Day this year due to Locate23 being held in Adelaide, this event will be held to announce the 2023 South Australia award winners, whilst also showcasing some of last year’s incredible winning projects.
The evening will be an opportunity for networking with colleagues old and new, and for celebration of the local geospatial industry.

The 3rd International Land Management Conference, hosted by the University of the West of England, will be held online on 14 and 15 March 2024. The event will bring together experts and professionals in land management to discuss inclusive land tenure, efficient land markets, sector reform and innovations in land research.
The conference will focus on four themes:
- Theme 1: Can we build more inclusive and resilient land tenure systems by understanding social value and climate change?
- Theme 2: How can land administration systems contribute to efficient and equitable land markets?
- Theme 3: What approaches can Development Partners use to help achieve more successful Land Administration sector reform?
- Theme 4: LINK – Early Career Professionals and Junior Researchers – Innovations in Land Research and Practice
The conference is organised by LINK, the Land–International Network for Knowledge — a network of academic organisations, professional practice and development partners, as well as public and private sector country partners — in association with the University of the West of England.
