The International Forum on Satellite-Derived Bathymetry 2019
Esteemed speakers and guests from hydrographic offices, marine industry, service providers and research institutes around the world will gather for Australia’s first SDB Day in May 2019.
Satellite Derived Bathymetry (SDB) is a method for providing high-resolution water depth data in shallow water environments. These waters are notoriously difficult and expensive to access. The method combines satellite imagery with advanced algorithms to provide affordable and accurate data, and all within a relatively quick turnaround time.
The forum addresses the urgent need for both users and producers of SDB to jointly discuss capabilities, standards, data integration and handling uncertainties in its application.
Each year representatives from the Association of Consulting Surveyors NSW and the Institution of Surveyors NSW come together to organise the NSW Excellence in Surveying and Spatial Information (EISSI) Awards.
The awards recognise the achievements of organisations and individuals from across the state who are engaged in the surveying and spatial information profession; celebrate excellence before an audience of industry peers; encourage activities that create a stronger, larger and more relevant industry; and embrace the achievements of the industry and its related industries and professions.
BeGeo, an initiative of the Belgian National Geographical Institute (NGI), is an annual national event for the geo sector in Belgium.
The BeGeo conference combines with a geographic information fair to bring together a wide range of players from the public sector, academia, research, the private sector and associations. This year, the organisers have once again chosen Brussels Expo as the location for the event.
BeGeo says its vision is to be a platform where important players from the sector meet and thus actively contribute to the growth of the knowledge and competences necessary to tackle complex challenges and realise the great potential of geodata.
The ISPRS Technical Commission II ‘Photogrammetry’ focuses, at various scales, on geometric, radiometric and multi-temporal aspects of the image- and range-based 3D surveying, mapping and modelling in the age of AI and mixed reality.
The organisers of the June 2024 Symposium welcome researchers, practitioners and companies involved in photogrammetry and computer vision to present and discuss their results with a broader audience. The Symposium will feature four days of plenary and keynote talks, along with parallel sessions of oral and poster presentations from academia and industry.
The symposium’s theme is ‘The Role of Photogrammetry for a Sustainable World,’ emphasising machine learning and mixed reality. The event is being organised in collaboration with ASPRS (American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing) and SGPF (Swiss Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing).
