Supported by the Australian Space Agency, the South Australian Space Industry Centre and SmartSat CRC, the 12th Australian Space Forum will provide an opportunity to stimulate ideas, share information about emerging technologies and network with space sector leaders and the broader community.
Participants will be able to attend in-person at the Adelaide Convention Centre in South Australia, or virtually through the event’s global interactive platform.
Forum sessions will include international panels covering the following thematic areas:
- National and international space trends
- Moving from cubesats to larger satellites — building Australian expertise and capability
- Reimagining the social, environmental and economic opportunities enabled by Earth observation technologies
- On-Earth and off-Earth remote operations, in the context of human exploration as well as applications right here on Earth
The AEGC petroleum, mineral and water resource industry conference, incorporating the ASEG-PESA International Geophysical Conference and Exhibition, will be jointly hosted by the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG), Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG) and Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA).
Under the conference theme of Geoscience for a Sustainable World, the AEGC will attract a large number of international and national delegates and organisations from across the spectrum of Australasian geosciences, representing industry, government and academia. It is expected there will be dedicated streams for Australian basins, resourcing a sustainable energy challenge, data, innovation and technology, high-quality resources for future generations and developing the future workforce.
The Space & Geospatial Collaborative Workshop will be jointly hosted by the Andy Thomas Space Foundation and the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute in Adelaide the day following the 12th Australian Space Forum and the day before Spatial Information Day.
This inter-disciplinary workshop will provide a unique opportunity for professionals from both space and spatial sectors to:
- Learn about Australia’s renewed commitment to space technology development
- Get updates on the requirements and capabilities of the modern spatial information industry using applications such as PNT (positioning, navigation and timing), EO (Earth Observation) and telecommunications
- Connect and discuss the increasing synergy and collaborative opportunities between the two sectors.
Organised by OSGeo, this international annual gathering of location enthusiasts is the largest global gathering for geospatial software. Now in its 15th year, FOSS4G (ie. Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial) brings together developers, users, decision-makers and observers from a broad spectrum of organisations and fields of operation.
Through six days of workshops, presentations, discussions, and cooperation, FOSS4G participants create effective and relevant geospatial products, standards, and protocols. The Australasian Hydrographic Society’s HydroSpatial2021 Conference will focus on how hydrography will develop in the future, noting the development of ‘digital twinning’ and the emerging name variants for hydrography such as ‘hydrospatial’ or ‘hydrogeomatics’.

The 16th annual congress of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation, the non-profit organisation that supports and promotes the collaborative development of free and open source geographic technologies and open geospatial data, will be held in Florence, Italy, at the Palazzo dei Congressi, Palazzo degli Affari and the University of Florence.

After a very successful GeoBuiz Europe Summit in 2022, the summit, in its 2023 edition, will facilitate interactions, market engagement, and collaborations among the leaders representing the space infrastructure and geospatial value chain.
The discussions at the summit will highlight the market trends and innovation directions for co-developing an agile and long-withstanding business ecosystem.
The ISPRS Technical Commission II ‘Photogrammetry’ focuses, at various scales, on geometric, radiometric and multi-temporal aspects of the image- and range-based 3D surveying, mapping and modelling in the age of AI and mixed reality.
The organisers of the June 2024 Symposium welcome researchers, practitioners and companies involved in photogrammetry and computer vision to present and discuss their results with a broader audience. The Symposium will feature four days of plenary and keynote talks, along with parallel sessions of oral and poster presentations from academia and industry.
The symposium’s theme is ‘The Role of Photogrammetry for a Sustainable World,’ emphasising machine learning and mixed reality. The event is being organised in collaboration with ASPRS (American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing) and SGPF (Swiss Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing).
