LOCATE22 – THE GEOSPATIAL EVENT

On behalf of the Locate Australia Conferences it is our pleasure to invite you to join us at Locate22, 24 – 26 May in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
Locate22 returns to the Nation’s Capital in the traditional format of a live event at the National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC). With the ability to be COVID safe, within a socially distanced environment, the NCCC is the perfect venue for Australia’s premier spatial and surveying conference. Canberra brings an incomparable setting with iconic national attractions surrounding Lake Burley Griffin and the Parliamentary Triangle.
This year Locate22 will incorporate dedicated streams into the format of the conference. This will enable focused discussion from across industry sectors on how location technologies and practices are being used, highlighting the fundamental role they play in shaping Australia’s future.
Industry, government, non-profit and academics are demanding new opportunities for innovation, efficiency and improved responsiveness, particularly in location-based information. In the past year alone, we’ve seen how location information can provide societal, environmental and economic benefits to our communities. Recent national emergencies such as bushfires, drought, floods and COVID-19 all have long-term effects on our cities, towns, land, environment and people. These national, place-based challenges require collaborative solutions that must be data-driven, provide insightful analysis, and be easy for anyone, anywhere to use.
Location in Action is about how we learn, share and connect as a community and with end users to drive deeper insights and aid better decision-making powered through location data, science and technologies.
Come and join us in Canberra where you will have an opportunity to network with national and international colleagues, have direct access to industry and subject matter experts, see the newest technology, and be introduced to the newest ideas in the spatial and surveying sector.

LOCATE 22
The 2022 Tasmania Surveying & Spatial Conference will be held on Friday, 2 September at Wrest Point in Hobart, and promises to be a fantastic opportunity to learn and network with SSSI members and the broader surveying and spatial community.
This year’s event will include a gala dinner, held in partnership with the University of Tasmania, to celebrate that institution’s 50 years in the field of surveying and spatial teaching.
In addition, the event will include the presentation of the 2022 Tasmanian Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards.

Smart Cities Week Australia and New Zealand 2022 will bring together the who’s-who in smart cities, digital twins and future-of-place thought leadership in an energising, open dialogue on how to leverage technology to deliver better quality of life for citizens.
Smart Cities Week offers sessions designed to bring demand and supply side stakeholders together in a way that incubates business opportunities and incubates the smart cities investment pipeline.
This year, the event will be delivered in conjunction with Digital Twin Week, known as the premier platform for showcasing, exchanging and networking around all things Digital Twin in the built and natural environment. The event will offer a series of opportunities to connect and gain information and insights on Digital Twin activity, policy and practice from government and industry leaders.
Leading the line-up for the 2022 event is Platinum event sponsor, Amazon Web Services, who will offer attendees a look at AWS-powered twin cities, and how towns, regions and cities, can use cloud benefits, technology and support, to realise their local planning vision.

The 2022 SSSI Queensland Regional Conference will be held on Friday, 14 October at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. It promises to once again be a fantastic opportunity to learn and connect with SSSI members and the broader surveying and spatial community.
The Queensland Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards dinner will also be held in conjunction with the conference, celebrating the outstanding work being undertaken across the region.

The 2022 SSSI Victorian Surveying & Spatial Summit and APSEA-V Dinner will take place on Thursday, 27 October 2022. It will be an opportunity for all Victorian surveying and spatial professionals to come together to learn, share and connect.
The event will feature an array of speakers, along with plenty of networking opportunities and the chance to see the latest products and services from local suppliers.

The 2022 SSSI NSW Regional Conference will be held on Thursday 10 November and Friday 11 November 2022 at the Novotel Sydney Central. The theme will be ‘Connections’.
This regular event is an opportunity to learn from and connect with other SSSI members and the broader geospatial community.
The first day will comprise the main conference, with speakers presenting on various topics, followed by the NSW & ACT Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards dinner in the evening.
The second day will be a NSW Spatial Digital Twin workshop, an interactive session that will get ‘under the bonnet,’ looking at data sharing, use cases and more.
The Call for Abstracts will close at midday on Monday, 26 September 2022. Abstract proposals can be submitted online at https://lnkd.in/ek4xS6Bu.
The organisers are seeking papers and presentations on a variety of topics, such as:

GeoSmart India returns in 2023 for its 23rd iteration, with a theme of ‘Geospatial Infrastructure and Digital Twins: Powering National Economy’.
This year, the focus will be on strengthening India’s ambition of becoming a trillion-dollar economy. Geospatial infrastructure and digital twins will play a pivotal role in empowering the nation’s economy, enabling measurement of what can be seen in order to make better decisions across all major sectors.
The Geospatial Council of Australia’s Western Australia Digital Twin Summit will be held on 15 November 2023.
The event will focus on Spatial Digital Twins, and attendees will hear the latest developments in this rapidly developing space from government, academia and private industry presenters.
The WA Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards dinner will also be held in conjunction with the conference, celebrating the outstanding work being undertaken across the region.

The not-to-be-missed Geospatial Council of Australia (GCA) WA Digital Twin Symposium will be held on 14 March in Perth, giving geospatial professionals a chance to learn about the latest developments in this important field.

The New Zealand: Digital Twin 2024 Summit will explore the roadmap of digital twin systems and their impact on each stage of a project, and explore the core values, challenges and opportunities unique to the priorities of New Zealand and how digital twins can deliver them.
The event will feature real stories of success and failure, research insights, and focus not just on what has already happened but also on the potential of digital twins and where key opportunities for timely innovation appear to be.
Delegates will hear from technical experts, industry leaders and researchers in an experience designed to support the development of a dynamic and scalable digital twin ecosystem in New Zealand.
