The National Surveying Congress will be an opportunity for leaders in the surveying profession to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the profession. The 2022 Congress theme is ‘Automatic Mutual Relaxation’.

As the profession comes to understand the impact of Automatic Mutual Recognition for surveyors across the country, the event will provide an opportunity for surveyors from across Australia to gather and discuss the issues facing the profession and the opportunities for the future. The highlight of the program each year is the Cadastral Leaders Panel which sees all the Surveyors-General on stage speaking about changes and opportunities in their states and territories as well as an update from ICSM and ANZLIC. There will also be an online option.

The National Surveying Consultancy Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner will be held on the second day of the event, 23 June 2022.

The 2023 Disaster & Emergency Management Conference (DEMC) will be held from 11 to 12 July 2023 at the RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast.

The DEMC brings together a cross sector mix of Australian & New Zealand defence, emergency services, business and community services at a leadership level to zone in on the current challenges and trends of the sector, in order to promote inter-agency collaboration and unity.

Over two full days, the DEMC will explore topics such as:

  • Applying the learnings from the past to create meaningful change for the future.
  • Inter-agency and volunteer cooperation and knowledge sharing.

Held on behalf of GEBCO, this event draws global experts in ocean technology, science and policy to discuss deep and coastal ocean exploration, offshore surveying technology, policy, diversity, equity and inclusion, the Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 project and GEBCO alumni activities.

Participation is open to all, including industry professionals, explorers, authors, students, researchers, government representatives and emerging technologists. Participants can attend in person or online.

9th International Conference on Cartography & GIS @ Nessebar, Bulgaria

The 9th International Conference on Cartography and GIS will take place in Nessebar, Bulgaria from 16 to 21 June 2024. The ICCGIS is a biannual conference that began in 2006 and has been held every two years since (except for 2020). In total, the Conference has attracted attendees from more than 60 countries and has published more than 700 scientific papers in its proceedings.

The aim of the conference is to collect knowledge and share experiences about the latest achievements in the field of cartography and GIS. Multiple parallel events will take place during the conference, including annual meetings of ICA commissions and a special ISDE plenary session. There will also be a Seminar on Disaster Risk Reduction – Solutions and Innovations.
