As the investment centre of gravity related to space shifts towards leading economies in the Indo-Pacific, we must think together about shared opportunities, challenges and risks around the ‘Zone Above’.
In collaboration with The University of Western Australia (UWA), the Perth USAsia Centre is convening the 2018 In The Zone Conference, the latest in a series founded to provide a strategic forum for Indo-Pacific policymakers, advocates, business and academic leaders to grapple with issues of shared regional concern. This year’s In the Zone will focus on capability, security and expansion into space and is titled The Zone Above: The Indo-Pacific Era in Space.

A panel of data and industry experts will examine changes to IP and copyright and the disruption of current business models that current and future technologies are creating, with an open discussion about governance considerations that may affect surveying businesses now and in the coming years. This will be an insightful, interesting and challenging discussion around how technology and big data are redefining business opportunities.

The National Surveying Congress will be an opportunity for leaders in the surveying profession to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the profession. The 2022 Congress theme is ‘Automatic Mutual Relaxation’.
As the profession comes to understand the impact of Automatic Mutual Recognition for surveyors across the country, the event will provide an opportunity for surveyors from across Australia to gather and discuss the issues facing the profession and the opportunities for the future. The highlight of the program each year is the Cadastral Leaders Panel which sees all the Surveyors-General on stage speaking about changes and opportunities in their states and territories as well as an update from ICSM and ANZLIC. There will also be an online option.
The National Surveying Consultancy Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner will be held on the second day of the event, 23 June 2022.
The 2022 SSSI Victorian Surveying & Spatial Summit and APSEA-V Dinner will take place on Thursday, 27 October 2022. It will be an opportunity for all Victorian surveying and spatial professionals to come together to learn, share and connect.
The event will feature an array of speakers, along with plenty of networking opportunities and the chance to see the latest products and services from local suppliers.

The 2023 NSW Geospatial Conference and Awards Dinner will take place on Thursday, 24 August at the PARKROYAL Parramatta hotel and convention venue.
The conference will be an opportunity for professionals from all corners of the geospatial world to come together and hear about recent innovative projects, the latest research and current activities from across the NSW geospatial community. It will also be a great chance to network and learn about all the latest technology from multiple exhibitors.

The conference will be capped off in the evening by the NSW Geospatial Excellence Awards, which will celebrate the best of the ACT and NSW geospatial industry.

The 2023 Victorian Geospatial Conference & Awards Dinner be an opportunity for Victorian professionals of all geospatial disciplines to come together to learn, connect and share, and also celebrate local excellence with the awards dinner in the evening.
This year’s program will feature three concurrent streams covering GIS, data, cadastral surveying, digital twins, remote sensing and more.
The Victorian Geospatial Excellence Awards dinner will take place from 6.00pm, immediately following the conference.
