Very Spatial tells us of a new web series that should be of interest to geo-types: MinuteEarth. Brought to you by the same folks behind MinutePhysics, the first episode of MinuteEarth delivers a succinct history of our planet.

Spatial Law & Policy has an interesting post that draws attention to the media’s role in protecting individual’s privacy – in this particular example, an interviewee for an article was concerned that a photo of his house was available on StreetView, yet, by sitting for the article, his full name, his city, street, and neighbourhood, his leadership position, and a blurred image of a home with a beautiful yard, fronted by a small brick wall and a paved driveway, were all shown online.

Google Maps Mania highlights a fun game based in StreetView, called Pursued, where you are plonked in an unknown location, and have to guess where it is. Surprisingly fun, actually.

Google announced on its Geo Developers Blog that it has decided to grant v2 of its Maps API a six month reprieve from the chopping block, to allow developers more time to transition their webmaps to v3.

LiDAR News has posted a video showing how UAVs will revolutionise the way that archaeological sites are mapped.
