This year’s SSSC pre-conference workshop program features immersive sessions devised and hosted by many of our industry leaders.  These are a great opportunity in the lead up to the conference to learn about new technologies, approaches and techniques.

UAV (Aerometrex): In our vast country, UAV will impact all the commissions – and it’s not just the Remote Sensors who are excited!

The SICC commission will host a Cartography and Map Design workshop, to give attendees practical information and techniques to create effective, successful maps in any display medium.

Another great opportunity is Point to Cloud (Intergraph) which offers those without LiDAR capabilities an effective overview.

Career Planning (SSSI & K2 Recruitment) will look at how to get an unfair advantage in the marketplace, and the skills and support available to develop a plan for your future.

Hydrographers will be delighted with the Ping to Chart (Caris) and Hydrography Standards (AHS) workshops – and of course the potential of UAV to chart the maritime space.

AURIN will be the “go to” for all involved in planning and managing the built and urban environment – learn more about this Federal funded initiative. Validation &Geocoding (Pitney Bowes Software) addresses the short-coming of authoritative data by providing a more robust framework to validate and locate even more addresses.

Intergraph’s OGC & ISO Metadata workshop gives participants a hands-on introduction to creating metadata to these standards, while the SDI Infrastructure workshop allows attendees to work through SDI planning scenarios and air their issues directly to OSP.

The History & Heritage SIG have devised a brilliant program with interesting speakers of note, and culminates in a tour of our nation’s capital.

Expect to roll up your sleeves in these carefully crafted, interactive sessions – for more detail visit the SSSC website.
