The next instalment in the on-going SIBA Networking Breakfast series will be held this week in Melbourne on 20 March.
The breakfast will include presentations from:
Bruce Thompson, deputy secretary within the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning will be presenting on the Land Services roadmap ‘The future direction for Spatial in Victoria from a government perspective.’
Bruce has many years of executive experience in the public sector in Victoria and Queensland, including significant contributions to Corporate Services innovations within the former Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE). Prior to his current role, Bruce was Chief Information Officer for DSE and the Director, Spatial Information Infrastructure.
Craig Lapsley, Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC). As Victoria’s first Emergency Management Commissioner, Craig believes the shift to an “all hazards, all emergencies” approach to emergency management is the next logical step in ensuring a systematic and coordinated approach before, during and after major emergencies. It is also an opportunity for the alignment of strategy, planning and investment across multiple agencies, to champion unified information systems, an organisational culture that supports information sharing, and a sharp and deliberate focus on better decision making with the community as a central partner in emergency management.
There will also be a special presentation from James Prior, managing director of Airbus Defence & Space Geo Australia entitled ‘Introducing Airbus Defence & Space Geo: Picture the Future from Space.’
