Queensland surveyors are being reminded that feedback on the draft Cadastral Survey Requirements v8.02 is still being sought by state’s Department of Resources.

According to the Department, the Cadastral Survey Requirements (CSR) is subject to ongoing review to keep pace with evolving surveying technology and practice, and to proactively address issues as they arise.

It says that “Changing operational requirements, along with feedback from industry and Titles Queensland has resulted in the preparation of proposed minor amendments to the CSR,” and it is therefore seeking feedback from industry on the draft version of the CSR.

According to the Department, the recent inclusion of identification surveys in the survey auditing processes identified that improved guidance about such surveys is necessary.

The aim of the current review is to clarify the standards applicable to identification surveys and to ensure compliance occurs consistently. References to surveying regulations have been updated to account for the new Survey and Mapping Infrastructure Regulation 2024.

In addition to these inclusions, other minor amendments that have resulted from consultation are reflected in the amendment history table that appears on page ii of the draft.

Feedback can be sent by email to surveying@resources.qld.gov.au, and should be received by 30 September 2024.

The next version of the CSR is proposed for introduction by the end of 2024.
