Spatial policy panel at GeoNext 2013

By on 18 December, 2012

With a large amount of geospatial data coming from government, the spatial industry is reliant on both supportive policy and infrastructure. Likewise, the government can also benefit from data created by the private sector, as well as the public at large through crowdsourcing.

At GeoNext 2013, a panel discussion will cover the opportunities arising from new policies, and the barriers that still exist in government. The panel will also take the time to present experiences from two practical case studies.

On the panel will be representatives from federal and state governments, as well as from the private sector.

Panellists will include:
Helen Owens – General Manager, Office of Spatial Policy
Wayne Patterson – NSW Land & Property Information
Leander Wiseman – NSW Department of Environment and Heritage
Paul Cousins – Head of Geo ANZ, Google Australia

The panel will be moderated by:
Maurits van der Vlugt – Spatial Information Strategist

GeoNext, has been created to bring together the existing and emerging threads of geo users, businesses, and developers in the certainty that there is an immense opportunity in sharing, inspiring and connecting these geo threads.

This opportunity is driving the GeoNext team to making GeoNext the premier event for geo-innovation and leadership in Australia in a few short years.
