The latest in the SIBA national breakfast series has been announced, with the Adeladie event taking place on 24th March, the Perth event on 25th March, and the Brisbane event on 26th March.

The Adelaide event will include presentations from: Brian Hayes QC, Member of the Expert Panel on Planning Reform, and Michael Burdett, SA Surveyor General.

Brian will bring you updates on the release of the progress report – What we have heard. He will provide insite into what is to come with the development of the Option Report. Michael will bring you updates on SALIS, the New SA Land Information System and the changes to the systems used by all. He will highlight the changes to the Surveying Act and Identification Surveys.

The Adelaide event will take place on Monday 24 March at the Grand Chifley Adelaide, between 7am-9am.

 

The Perth event will include a presentation from research associate professor Kevin Vinsen from UWA, a resident expert on the Square Kilometre Array (SKA). In his presentation, Kevin will describe the scale of the SKA Science Data Processing (SDP) problem and how an international team of Astronomy, High Performance Computing, and Software Engineering specialists are trying to have a design completed by the end of 2015. Kevin will also talk about his other passion – theSkyNet POGS and how machine learning will help with the huge datasets.

The Perth event will take place on Tuesday, 25th March, 2014 at the Rendezvous Studio Hotel Perth, from 7am to 9am.

 

The Brisbane event will feature a presentation from Michael Haines of VANZI on the Rate of Change in Technology.

The Brisbane event will take place on Wednesday, 26 March, 2014 at the Era Bistro (not the cafe), in South Brisbane.
