The Spatial Industries Business Association (SIBA) this year has teamed up with Airbus Defence and Space for the second instalment of the National Breakfast Series. The overarching theme of the 2015 series will focus on how spatial technologies benefit industry and the broader economy.

Airbus Defence & Space manufactures satellites and satellite components, provides satellite ground stations, and its Geo business line provides earth observation satellite imagery and associated products and services from a constellation of four optical satellites and two X-band radar satellites.

SIBA general manager Kellee Ireland said: “The success of the inaugural series last year ignited keen interest in the spatial industry, with over 600 attendees in 2014. Through the series we were able to incorporate an industry consultation on behalf of the Department of Communications.

“Attendees were able to indulge in networking and the exchange of ideas with key industry stakeholders while being kept informed of relevant market issues and government policy updates.

“SIBA is thrilled to continue the national breakfast series with Airbus Defence and Space as the national sponsor for 2015,” she added.

“Following last year’s successful SIBA national breakfast series, Airbus Defence and Space is delighted to be involved as the national sponsor this year. Airbus Defence and Space is keen to work with SIBA to promote the growth of Australia’s spatial industry,” said James Prior, managing director of Airbus DS Geo Australia.
