Altus NR3 lightweight GNSS receiver now available

Septentrio’s Altus NR3 GNSS receiver.

Septentrio has launched a new lightweight surveying receiver, the Altus NR3 that utilises all four constellations and provides triple-frequency tracking.

Manufactured by Septentrio, the new NR3 can be used as a base or rover, the NR3 utilises all four constellations – GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo – and provides triple-frequency tracking on GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo.

Incorporating multipath and ionospheric detection, the Altus NR3 maintains accuracy and continued operation despite shocks, vibration, or other interference.

The Altus NR3 incorporates a suite of algorithmic corrections to improve positioning results against these hazards — LOCK+ to automatically adjust tracking loop parameters and protect against mechanical shock, IONO+ to mitigate effects of ionospheric disturbances and APME+, a bias-free algorithmic correction to minimise multipath effects from large nearby structures.

According to Septentrio, ease of use is another key benefit of the Altus NR3, with one-touch logging and a very simple setup procedure.

The Altus NR3 receiver is distributed exclusively in Australia by Globalpos, who also distribute and support Septentrio products in New Zealand. It is marketed internationally by Carlson.
