The 2024 Advancing Earth Observation Forum will be held from 10 to 12 September at the Adelaide Convention Centre, with pre- and post-forum workshops to be held on 9 and 13 September.

The biennial Forum was created to enable the Earth observation (EO) community to communicate, coordinate, collaborate and collectively assess the state of EO in the Australian and Asia-Pacific region.

The Forum will be a place for discussing advances in remote sensing technology, sensors and platforms, data analysis, and applications related to EO.

It will also be an opportunity for experts to share insights on how these data can be utilised for wide-ranging purposes such as climate and environmental monitoring, agriculture and forestry, urban planning, weather prediction and disaster management.

Participants are expected to come from a range of organisations within the EO community, including the private sector, government agencies, research institutions, space and defence agencies, not-for-profits, and educational institutions.

Registrations are now open, with early bird discounts applying until 31 July.

The call for abstracts has been extended until 31 May, with the organisers welcoming proposals for presentations and workshops that highlight the Forum’s overarching theme — EO for Australia’s changing future.

  • Call for abstracts close: 31 May 2024
  • Early bird registration close: 31 July 2024
  • Pre-forum workshops: 9 September 2024
  • Forum: 10 to 12 September 2024
  • Post-forum workshops: 13 September 2024

The organisers are seeking sponsors for the event and are offering a range of options.

Full details on registration, submission of abstracts and sponsorship opportunities can be found on the Forum website.
