Roy Green appointed to SmartSat CRC Board

SmartSat CRC has announced the appointment of Emeritus Professor Roy Green of the University of Technology Sydney to its Board as Non-Executive Director.

Professor Green has an extensive background in innovation, having advised and published widely on innovation policy and management, as well as trends in business education. He has prepared or co-authored numerous research and public policy reports on innovation and productivity with the federal and state governments, as well as organisations such as the OECD, European Commission, Business Council of Australia and CEDA.

Professor Green was also an expert consultant for the Senate Innovation System Inquiry on the structure and performance of Australia’s national innovation system, which became an input to the Prime Minister’s National Innovation and Science Agenda.

Professor Green has served on the Board of the Innovative Manufacturing CRC, the Research Advisory Committee of the Centre for Policy Development and the Australian Design Council, and is also currently Chair of the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Hub, Food Innovation Australia and the Port of Newcastle.

Professor Green has previously chaired the Australian Government’s Innovative Regions Centre, CSIRO Manufacturing Sector Advisory Council, New South Wales Manufacturing Council and Queensland Competition Authority.

Professor Green has also participated as a member of the Enterprise Connect Advisory Committee, Australian Bureau Statistics Innovation Technical Reference Group, South Australian Training and Skills Commission, South Australian Public Sector Performance Commission, Committee for Sydney Knowledge Economy Taskforce, Australian Fashion Chamber, and the Prime Minister’s Manufacturing Taskforce.
