Program announced for Australia’s first home delivery conference

By on 11 October, 2016

In an age where e-commerce is set to overtake retail, innovations in home delivery technology stand to benefit from burgeoning growth and insatiable customer demand. However, the race for last-mile logistics is counting on the spatial technologies required to ensure accurate, efficient and safe delivery through new delivery methodologies.

To bring these concepts into reality, a new conference has been announced to address all of the technologies required to modernise last mile logistics. The first Home Delivery Asia Pacific conference will take place in Melbourne on 16 November 2016 at the Automotive Centre of Excellence and its newly released program features an exciting line up of disruptors, entrepreneurs and strategists.

Among them include those focused on transport options, different payment methods and many of the new IT technologies and apps that are rapidly becoming disruptors and innovators in the last mile of the supply chain.

As part of the logistics segment, Co-founder and CEO of Sherpa Ben Nowlan will present “Merchant Independence – Controlling the Last Mile.”

Nowland defines merchant independence as the ability to compete in a world where technology giants are taking over the supply chain and controlling the customer’s purse strings.

While companies like Amazon, Alibaba and Deliveroo eat up market share, Nowlan believes it is ever more critical that businesses take back control through a better last mile experience.

Brent Stafford of HERE will address how mapping and spatial technologies underpin such endeavours in his keynote “Tackling Last Mile Delivery.”

Fuelled by technology and innovative business models, Stafford sees the on-demand economy harnessing the power of location information to ensure timely goods pickup and delivery.

As a leading global provider of location services and the partner of choice, Stafford will share how HERE is uniquely placed to create new ways of matching supply with demand, while maximising ground delivery efficiency and distribution.

“With many strategic alliances being formed right now, new payment methods and even autonomous delivery being explored and an explosion of the sharing economy generally, this event is perfectly timed,” said Stafford.

Early bird registration for Home Delivery Asia Pacific is now available at $350+GST if registered by 19 October 2016.
