A memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed that formalises the arrangements between the New South Wales Board of Surveying and Spatial Information and the Surveyor-General of the Australian Capital Territory, and which will assist in the development of further co-operative initiatives.

The MOU — which sets out the agreements and protocols for co-operation and joint activity — is a statement of intent and does not create legal obligations between the parties. It replaces a previous MOU signed in 2015.

The MOU covers a number of areas, such as:

  • Examination of candidates for registration as Land Surveyors
  • Continued professional development
  • Registration procedures and fees, and
  • Investigation and disciplinary procedures

Both agencies will continue to collaborate on further initiatives to promote joint activity and co-operation.
