The Locate23 conference and exhibition is fast approaching, and organisers have issued a reminder for potential speakers to get their abstracts in. The submission deadline is 6 February.

Locate23’s theme will be ‘Geospatial Evolutions: From Lands, to Seas, to Stars,’ and therefore presentations are being sought from across a range of sectors, such as engineering and mining surveying, hydrography, land surveying, remote sensing and photogrammetry, spatial information and cartography, and the vital intersection between space and spatial.

The organisers say that one of the main aims for Locate23 is to champion successes from across the geospatial community in promoting:

  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Future business opportunities
  • Geospatial policies, law & ethics
  • Personal development and wellbeing
  • Workforce opportunities
  • Young and emerging professionals

The deadline for abstract submissions is 5:00pm AEDT, 6 February 2022.

Workshops are popular feature of Locate conferences, so the call is also out for proposals for 2023. Workshops offer the opportunity to:

  • Add new dynamics to the existing packages of conference content
  • Provide opportunities for unstructured and dynamic conversations around the conference themes
  • Deliver a richer experience for delegates, to move beyond engagement with PowerPoint presentations towards direct interaction with key thought leaders and industry experts

Workshops should address a particular topic of interest to the surveying and spatial sector and should provide content that is interactive and skill-building, using a hands-on approached to engage with delegates.

Limited workshops spots are available on Wednesday the 10th of May.

The deadline for workshop proposal submissions is 5:00pm AEDT, 6 February 2022.
